Camstent Ltd. develops patented polymer coatings that prevent hospital acquired infections (HAI), improving patient outcomes while significantly lowering healthcare costs. Its disruptive technology is a spin-out material from the University of Nottingham which changes the physical properties of surfaces to make them inhospitable to bacterial colonisation. The first product targets Catheter Acquired Urinary Tract Infections [CAUTI], which cause a staggering 38% of all HAI, disproportionately impacting the cost and quality of care for all hospitals and millions of inpatients.
